Who am I?
I am Elné Visagie, a dancer born and raised in South Africa. I am a compassionate, caring, understanding, supportive and loving person. South Africa has shaped who I am and given me many experiences that have taught me to work hard for the dreams I want to achieve. I love making people smile and bringing positivity into the lives of those around me, as you never know what someone is going through. I enjoy sharing my passion, experiences and stories with others because I believe our journeys can inspire and connect us, especially through dance.
Work and education
I studied at the Association of International Dance Teachers, where I earned my teaching qualification. Through this qualification, I learned so much, from exams and different teaching styles to musicality, child safety and even first aid. All of this has helped shape me into the teacher I am today. I have worked as a dance teacher since 2019. Although I have not been teaching for many years, I have been dancing since the age of four. I work hard and strive to be the best teacher I can be by learning something new every day and learning from other teachers.
What do I want to give my students?
I want my students to have a safe place where they can express themselves, develop and strive to be the best version of themselves, as dance can mean so many different things to different people. Dance can be your escape, your comfort, your passion or the part of the day that makes you smile. I am a contemporary teacher with a strong focus on technique, but I work together with my students to help them become the dancers they want to be. I want to bring joy, laughter, comfort and a smile, so they can enjoy dancing and feel good about who they are.
